Clear Your Mental Clutter

12 DAYS OF CREATIVITY
DAY 2

Another big Grinch moment for me has been fatigue.

When I’m feeling expansive, I have lots of energy and ideas just bubble up!

But when I get tired, I feel small and my creative work feels like walking through quicksand.

Visual or mental clutter can drain your creative energy.

CLEAR YOUR MENTAL CLUTTER.

Find that one place that makes you feel overwhelmed and fatigued and take a few steps to clear out the clutter.

Close down all the tabs in your browser.

Throw away the paperwork you are never looking at.

Clean out your pantry cupboard and decide to give away all the ingredients you’ve never tried.

Give yourself the gift of the space to start something new.

Look at this empty space and start to daydream.

Let the dream expand just big enough to spark your interest.

And from that spark, think about one thing you can do to take a small baby step forward.

I picture the children of Whoville who when they saw there was no Christmas tree or presents, started to sing.

What small notes could you start singing today that might grow into a chorus as more and more notes are added.
