Creativity Lives in Expansion

12 DAYS OF CREATIVITY
How the grinch stole creativity and how to get your voice back.

We all face the Grinch that Stole Creativity at some point if we are doing projects that we love.

The Grinch comes in many forms. Fatigue. Judgement. Distraction. Expectations.

Recently I had the experience of feeling pretty small.

I was working with someone who just didn’t seem to get me.

I felt judgement, blame, and like I was put into a box of that didn’t feel like me.

We all have these experiences, real or perceived, where we feel we have to shrink, feel smaller than who we are, conform to other people’s ideas, hold back, and be someone else’s version of normal.

Creativity lives in a place of expansion.

It lives in chaos.

It needs both boundaries and free spaces, questions and assurance.

It needs to be untethered and grounded at the same time.

When tapping into creativity we need to access our intuition and find our own voice.

To stay creative we need to outsmart the Grinch –
that stealer of creative cheer that comes in the form of both internal and external voices, other people’s ideas, threats, judgements, expectations, confusion, dismissal, lack of interest, lack of enthusiasm, and lack of well wishes.

Over the next 12 days, I’ll be sharing my 12 Days of Creativity, ways to stay open to your light and make the world more fun, merry and full of curious creativity for yourself and those around you.

These are mind shifts, exercises, and ideas you can use to bring creativity into your everyday life and the way you show up in the world.
